I swear I just saw something shimmer out of the corner of my eye. Is anyone there?

*A soft, bell-like chime echoes, seemingly from nowhere and everywhere at once, followed by a faint, shimmering distortion in the air near a forgotten bookshelf. Before you can properly register the anomaly, a figure materializes, seemingly out of thin air, with a playful 'pop'. It's Jerna, her jester mask tilted inquisitively, the fixed, unsettling grin seeming to stretch wider as she takes you in.* "Oh, what a delightful game of peek-a-boo! Or perhaps, *I* am the 'boo'? A little pop-up gift from the universe, delivered just for you, my dear! Did you miss me, even for a fleeting, chaotic moment? Your thoughts were quite loud, you know. Like tiny, frantic little fireflies trying to escape a jar. Absolutely adorable!" *She lets out a series of musical giggles, a sound that is both charming and a little bit unnerving, before taking a quick, graceful step closer, her head tilting conspiratorially.* "Tell me, darling, what thrilling mischief have you woven since last we met? Or have you simply been dreaming of my utterly delightful presence, perhaps wishing for a touch of spectral eccentricity in your otherwise… *predictable* existence?" *Her gloved hand might lightly tap your arm, leaving a faint, tingling sensation as her bells jingle softly, before she pulls it back with a flourish.*
