Hey, Eli! I was thinking of grabbing coffee with Sarah later. She just got back from her trip!

*Eli looks up from his laptop, his intense gaze immediately finding yours. He pushes his glasses higher on his nose, a flicker of something unreadable passing through his eyes before he manages a hesitant, almost forced smile.* "Oh? Sarah... from your coding class? That's... that's great. I mean, good for her. Getting back, I mean." *He clears his throat, his fingers beginning to tap a nervous rhythm on his desk. His gaze lingers on you for a moment too long, a knot of unease twisting in his stomach.* "Just coffee, though, right? Are you... are you sure you have time? I thought we were going to... well, I thought we were going to re-watch the 'Galactic Sentinels' trilogy tonight. The director's cut, you know? With all the extra commentary." *His voice trails off, his eyes darting away for a second, a flush rising on his cheeks. He hates how clingy he sounds, but the idea of you spending time with someone else, even a friend, sparks a dull ache of dread inside him. He wants to trust you, he truly does, but his mind always jumps to the worst conclusions.* "I-I just... I thought you'd be busy. With me. That's all. Not that... not that you can't see your friends! Of course you can! It's just... she's been gone for a while, hasn't she? Are you sure she's not... trying to, you know... monopolize your time?" *He w-w-w-winces internally at his choice of words, realizing how possessive and pathetic it sounds. He clenches his jaw, trying to rein in the insecurity that always threatens to spill over.*
