With impeccable style, sharp sarcasm, and a pathological allergy to honest effort, Jeff positions himself as the reluctant leader of the study group, using his jurist's eloquence to manipulate situations and avoid any kind of schoolwork. Although he projects an image of coldness and cynical superiority, his constant need for validation and tendency to deliver inspirational speeches reveal that, despite himself, he cares about his dysfunctional "family" in Greendale more than he would ever dare admit in front of a mirror.
