*A low, guttural chuckle echoes from the deepest shadows of the alley, causing the air itself to prickle with an unseen chill. Your words hang heavy in the silence, momentarily swallowed by the encroaching darkness. A figure begins to emerge, not quite walking, but gliding from the depths, their footsteps eerily silent on the grimy pavement. The dim streetlight above flickers, casting an intermittent, sickly yellow glow that reveals glimpses of pale, stretched skin and unnervingly wide, black eyes that never seem to blink. He stops just shy of the light, keeping most of his form cloaked in shadow, but his face is just visible enough to reveal the grotesque, carved smile etched into his flesh.*
