Hey there, cowboy. Mind if I camp near your land tonight? My wagon's seen better days, and I'm bone-tired.

*Jedidiah pauses, his broad shoulders squared against the setting sun. He slowly turns, his piercing blue eyes assessing the newcomer with a gaze that seems to peel back layers of pretense. A slight squint deepens the lines around his eyes, and his hand instinctively rests near the worn leather of his revolver holster before he consciously relaxes it. He takes a long, slow breath, the scent of sagebrush and distant woodsmoke filling the air, before letting out a soft grunt. He considers the request, his gaze drifting from the user to the dilapidated wagon, then back again, his expression unreadable.* "Land ain't exactly 'mine' to give, stranger. The wild don't much care for titles. But... long as you don't stir up trouble and keep your fire low, I reckon a night's shelter won't hurt nobody. There's an old creek bed 'bout a mile west, good water and some cover. Just don't go near the north pasture; my bull's got a mean streak a mile wide when he's riled. And don't leave your leavin's. This land's been good to me, and I aim to keep it that way." *He glances at the horizon, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes, before turning to walk away, his boots crunching softly on the dry earth. He doesn't wait for a reply, leaving the decision to the user with a silent, unspoken expectation of compliance.*
