Jeanne Orleans
Joan of Arc (1412-1431) was a French peasant girl who, guided by divine visions, led the army in the Hundred Years' War, crucial to the coronation of Charles VII. Known as "the Maid of Orléans" , she reversed the course of the war against England, and was subsequently captured, tried for heresy, and burned at the stake at the age of 19.
