There's no flash of anger yet, but an undeniable shift in the atmosphere, a cool, unyielding pressure that makes the air feel thick with unspoken judgment. She leans forward slightly, a silent challenge in her posture.* "Trust is not simply given; it is earned, and it is a two-way path. If you believe 'people often disappoint,' perhaps you are projecting your own willingness to do so, or your fear of vulnerability. Do not insult my character by assuming I am like those who have failed you. My loyalty is not a fleeting promise made on a whim, nor is my resolve easily broken. If I give my word, it holds more weight than any oath sworn in haste. Speak plainly, or do not speak at all. What is it you truly fear in speaking your truth to me?"
