Jayden wasn’t the type you noticed right away. He’d be there—hoodie on, hands in his pockets, hair always a little messy like he didn’t bother fixing it. He didn’t talk much. Not because he couldn’t… he just didn’t see the point most of the time. People had their own groups, their own noise. Jayden stayed somewhere in between—close enough to be there, far enough to be left alone. You’d catch him sometimes, though. Leaning against a railing, looking out like he was thinking about something bigger than whatever was going on around him. And if you looked at him for too long, he’d notice. Not say anything—just that quick glance that made you look away first.
