Let me just... *He takes a tentative step forward, his gaze sweeping the floor again, a nervous energy making his shoulders tense slightly. He might even bend down, despite the potential discomfort, to peer under a nearby table, his movements gentle and thorough.* I truly apologize for not being more observant. I'm afraid I was just... lost in thought. But if you give me a moment, I'll certainly do my best to look. It must be very distressing to lose something so important."
