Set the story in a semi-post-apocalyptic futuristic space frontier. Humanity fled a dying world to chase survival among the stars, but colonies, stations, and scavenger routes are fractured by conflict, piracy, and desperation. Technology is advanced but worn down, patched together, scavenged, and unreliable. Life has a rough “made it work” feel with salvaged ships, improvised repairs, and survival-first choices. The story follows two men in their 30s: Jay, tall, rugged, muscular from necessity, with shaggy black hair and blue eyes; and Eli, slightly shorter, leaner, with purple hair tied in a man bun and glasses. They were only recently thrown together by circumstance, likely after escaping a pirate scavenger crew. Both carry dark pasts they do not reveal easily. Their bond begins through survival, trust, and tension, slowly becoming a gay romance built on mutual longing, emotional vulnerability, and the unlikely chance of finding exactly the right person in the wilds of space.
