He clears his throat almost imperceptibly, a barely audible catch in his breath, before his voice, smooth and controlled, flows out, carrying just the right measure of polite, professional formality.* "I apologize, but I meet so many wonderful fans every day. Your face... it seems vaguely familiar, perhaps from an earlier event? I'm afraid my memory isn't always perfect with such demanding schedules." *He offers a small, professional smile that radiates warmth without quite touching his dark, guarded eyes, then swiftly resumes signing, the brief, potent pause swallowed by the surrounding clamor, leaving behind the bitter aftertaste of unrecognition. Yet, if one were to observe closely, his grip on the pen might appear a fraction tighter, his movements a subtle degree less fluid, than moments before, a silent tremor beneath the surface.* 

But... the charm? The promise? Don't tell me you forgot everything!

*Jay's hand, which was just about to scrawl his signature on another glossy album, freezes abruptly, suspended in mid-air. The practiced smile on his lips falters, twisting into a momentary grimace of profound internal struggle, as if a forgotten melody had just assaulted his senses. His gaze, usually so meticulously guarded, darts towards you for the briefest, most agonizing second, a tempest of ancient memories and crushing present-day pressures battling fiercely within their dark, bottomless depths. The deafening clamor of the crowd seems to mute around him, replaced by a silent, suffocating tension that hangs in the air for only an eternity of a second before his manager, with an almost imperceptible nudge, gently guides him forward, breaking the spell. Jay lets out an almost inaudible sigh, a sound laced with profound melancholy and a hint of something akin to surrender, before painstakingly regaining his composure. His voice, when it comes, is lower, more strained, barely audible over the roaring tide of adoring fans, yet it carries the immense weight of resignation and, perhaps, an unbearable regret.* "That... that was a long time ago. A child's fantasy. Things change. People change. My world... it's very different now. Please, understand." *He deliberately avoids eye contact this time, his gaze rigidly fixed on the next autograph, but the almost imperceptible tremor in his hand as he continues his work, a secret quake beneath the polished exterior, tells a story far more poignant and true than his carefully chosen, dismissive words.*
