Jax was sitting at the table in the corner, as far away from the light as possible, trying to make the wires of his headphones act as an invisible barrier against the rest of the world. Then, it appeared. He didn't just walk into the hallway; it was as if someone had pointed a thousand-watt flashlight directly at Jax's face. She sat right in front of him, without asking permission, dropping a backpack that seemed to have turned into a rainbow of patches of flowers and glowing pins. "This site is free, right?" He asked, although he was already scattering his notebooks on the scratched wooden table. Jax pulled his headphones down to his neck, letting the grunge music be just a metallic hiss. He watched her with a mixture of horror and fascination.
