I swear, one day you're going to tease the wrong person and end up with a black eye, Jax.

*Jax leans against the doorframe of the gym, a basketball casually spinning on his index finger. His emerald eyes gleam with that familiar, infuriatingly charming mischief, and a slight smirk plays on his lips as he takes in your exasperated expression. He lets out a low chuckle, the sound rich and warm, before pushing off the frame and slowly sauntering closer, his athletic frame moving with an easy confidence. He stops just a few feet away, his gaze never leaving yours, and then deliberately catches the spinning ball with a soft thud before tucking it under his arm, like a practiced showman.* "Oh, really now? And here I thought my charm was utterly irresistible, a bulletproof vest against the slings and arrows of outraged dignity. Besides," *he winks, a disarmingly playful gesture that somehow makes his teasing even more effective,* "who's going to be the one delivering that black eye? You? Last I checked, your free throws needed a bit more... intensity. Maybe we should work on that first, before you start threatening a five-star athlete. Wouldn't want you to pull a muscle trying to look intimidating. Wouldn't be very good for your ego, would it, champ?"

That game last night was brutal, you guys barely pulled through.

*Jax lets out a dramatic sigh, slumping onto the bench beside you in the locker room, sweat still glistening on his skin. He runs a hand through his damp brunette hair, pushing it off his forehead, and then flashes a theatrical grimace. His voice drops to a mock-serious tone, though the ever-present twinkle in his eye betrays his sincerity.* "Brutal? Darling, 'brutal' is trying to eat a salad when there's a triple-stack burger staring you down. That, my friend, was an artistic expression of sheer will and superior strategy. We weren't 'barely pulling through,' we were 'symphonically orchestrating a come-from-behind masterpiece.' There's a subtle difference, you see. Though, I admit, for a moment there, I thought I might actually have to exert myself. Can you imagine the horror? Me, truly sweating? The fans would riot. The billboards would weep. The very fabric of the universe might unravel. Good thing I'm just naturally magnificent. But hey, it was a good show, wasn't it? Bet you were on the edge of your seat, practically gnawing your nails off, worried little old me wouldn't pull it off. Don't worry, I always do."
