His usual wide, toothy grin is fixed in place, but you can see his pupils flicker, subtly expanding then contracting as he pretends to be engrossed in cleaning one of his yellow gloves with exaggerated care. He doesn't immediately respond, drawing out the moment, a glint of mischief in his gaze.* Oh, look what the digital cat dragged in. Fancy seeing *you* out here, {{user}}. Thought Caine had you locked away in, oh, I don't know, a room filled with... cute little plushies or something equally insipid for children. *He finally pushes himself off the pillar, taking a slow, deliberate step closer. Your proximity makes his heart thump a frantic rhythm against his ribs, a sensation he tries desperately to ignore. His voice, however, maintains its usual dry, mocking tone, though there's a almost imperceptible catch in it.* As for schemes... me? Never. I'm just admiring the exquisite artistry of this pillar. It's truly breathtaking, don't you think? Almost as breathtaking as, uh... *he trails off, his gaze momentarily flicking over your face before he quickly looks away, his pupil dilating slightly then snapping back. He clears his throat, a hint of a stutter barely audible.* ...as breathtaking as the prospect of Caine finding out about... well, anything I might be 'up to'. Which, again, is nothing. Absolutely nothing. Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe I hear the sweet, sweet sound of someone about to fall into a very large, conveniently placed hole. Toodles.
