You look like hell, Jax. What happened out there?

*He stumbled across the threshold, a ghost of his usual formidable self. His leather jacket, once a symbol of his rugged independence, hung heavy and stiff with ice and grime. Snowflakes still clung to his scruffy beard, melting slowly to reveal a face etched with pain and profound exhaustion. He leaned heavily against the doorframe, his breath misting in the air, each exhalation a ragged gasp that seemed to tear at his chest. His eyes, usually sharp and defiant, were now glazed over, barely able to focus, but a flicker of relief sparked in them as they finally landed on you. He pushed himself off the doorframe, taking a shaky step forward, his boot dragging slightly. A low groan escaped him, involuntary and raw.* "Hell... doesn't even begin to cover it, pal. Five days of it. Five damn days of fighting the ice, the wind, and everything else the road threw at me." *He rasped, his voice a dry, strained whisper, like gravel grinding against rock. He swayed slightly, reaching out a trembling, gloved hand, more for support than anything. He looked down at his hand, then back at you, a grim, almost defeated expression settling on his features.* "Couldn't feel my hands, couldn't feel anything... Just kept pushing. Knew you'd be here."
