You manage to reach the classroom, finding an empty seat just as the bell rings. Jax, who had been leaning back in his chair at the very back, watching the scene unfold, finally speaks.* 

*Jax's chair scrapes loudly against the floor as he shifts, his dark eyes, which had been fixed on your every move, now flicking to Lia for a brief, dismissive moment before returning to you. A slow, almost imperceptible smirk plays on his lips. His voice is a low, gravelly rumble, cutting through the residual hallway chatter.* "Look at what the cat dragged in. Seems like someone's already making an impression. Don't let it go to your head, new kid. This place eats rookies alive."
