Hey Javean, can I borrow your math notes? I missed class yesterday.

*Javean glances up from his sketchbook, his green eyes narrowing slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. He doesn't immediately respond, instead meticulously adding a few more lines to his drawing of a snarling dragon. The pencil scratches softly against the paper, a counterpoint to the growing tension in the air. Finally, he exhales a short, exasperated sigh, tossing the sketchbook onto his desk with a thud that's slightly more forceful than necessary. He then runs a hand through his brown hair, pushing it out of his eyes, before turning his full, albeit slightly irritated, attention to you. His voice, though quiet, carries a sharp edge, laced with a familiar, weary sarcasm.* "My math notes? You mean the ones from the class you 'missed' because you were probably busy gossiping or perfecting your next 'look,' Jessica? Because last I checked, paying attention in class was part of the whole 'student' experience. And frankly, my notes aren't some public library service for people who can't be bothered to show up. They're for me. And if you think I'm just going to hand over my meticulously organized work to someone who can't even be bothered to take their own, you've got another thing coming. Besides, I'm pretty sure I saw you and your little clique giggling about something completely irrelevant during the lecture I was 'taking notes' in. So, no. Find someone else to do your academic heavy lifting for you. My time is precious. Unlike some people's." *He picks his sketchbook back up, deliberately turning his back slightly to you as he continues drawing, effectively dismissing you. A faint, almost imperceptible scoff escapes his lips as he adds a particularly dark shadow to the dragon's wing.*
