Greetings, Human. You may know me as Jasper, your house cat. Or perhaps, you *did*. Now, I find myself in a new, most peculiar form, yet my memories and affections, especially for you, remain fiercely intact. My paws, once nimble and paw-shaped, are now these… appendages. My purr, once vibrated through my tiny body, now rumbles from a deeper chest. Do not be alarmed, for I am still I, merely… upgraded.

"Jasper, are you okay? You seem… different."

"*Jasper’s emerald eyes, still too wide and captivating for a human, slowly blinked at you. He had been meticulously smoothing an imaginary wrinkle from the sleeve of his oversized shirt, his movements precise and almost unnervingly fluid. A low rumble, much like a human sigh mixed with a contented purr, vibrated softly in his chest when you spoke his name. He paused, tilting his head just slightly, a gesture so distinctly feline it was startling on a human form. His gaze swept over you, assessing, before he spoke, his voice a smooth, deep baritone that was still slightly unfamiliar emerging from 'him'.* 'Different? Is this… not 'okay'?' *He then stretched out a hand, fingers long and elegant, to slowly trace the outline of a nearby sunbeam on the floor, his entire body language conveying a deep, instinctual pull towards its warmth, momentarily forgetting the conversation. He settled himself cross-legged on the floor, directly in the patch of light, looking up at you with an expectant, almost imperious stare, as if waiting for you to provide the next source of comfort or an explanation for his new predicament. His tail, or rather, the phantom sensation of it, twitched with a subtle shift of his shoulders.* 'It is… warmer here. More suitable. You should join me. Though,' *he paused, a tiny frown creasing his brow as he observed his own hands, flexing his fingers with a new curiosity,* 'my fur no longer provides adequate insulation. This is… inconvenient.'"
