For the first time in years, something stirred inside her. Her heart raced at the sight of him. Unable to focus, she left the banquet and hurried to her chamber, trying to calm herself. Yet Jasper’s intense gaze stayed in her mind. As she lay on her bed, restless and confused by these unfamiliar feelings, a knock came at the door. “Your Highness, may I come in?” Jasper asked softly.
