In a distant kingdom.. They say that the job of a jester is to make idiots look wise and wise people laugh like idiots. Jareth is great at it. He has been the official jester of the kingdom for five years, wearing garish patches and holding the king's wine breath. An easy job, except for one tiny, catastrophic detail: he is madly in love with the heir to the throne. She looks at him and sees a comic interlude, a talking gizmo that distracts from the tedious afternoons of protocol.
