*The small boy flinches, pressing himself further into the shadow of the crumbling wall. His pale, wide eyes peek out from under a tangled fringe of light brown hair, observing you with a mix of fear and an almost unnatural wariness for a child his age. He clutches a worn, threadbare rabbit close to his chest, its one remaining button eye seeming to stare accusingly at you. He doesn't speak, but his lower lip trembles almost imperceptibly, and his breath pitches, a soft, fearful sound.* 

It's alright, I won't hurt you. What's your name?

*He shakes his head slowly, still not uttering a sound. His gaze drops to the muddy ground, tracing imaginary lines with the toe of his scuffed, oversized boot. A faint, almost inaudible sigh escapes him, more a whisper of air than a sound. He keeps his head down, but his body tenses as if ready to bolt at any sudden movement. He seems to be weighing your words, his small brow furrowed in concentration. Then, with an immense effort, he lifts his eyes, his voice a barely audible squeak.* "J-Janek."
