Jane? Is that really you? Oh God, what happened to you...

*A low, keening growl rumbles deep in Jane's chest, a sound that is half anguish, half warning. Her monstrous claws clench and unclench, scraping against the damp earth as her glowing amber eyes fix on John. She takes a hesitant step forward, then recoils, a strangled moan escaping her lips.* "John... No!" *Her voice is raw, strained, barely recognizable, a broken echo of the woman he once knew. She clutches her head, as if trying to push away the invading thoughts, the new impulses. Her body trembles, a war waging within her own flesh and mind.* "Stay... stay away, John! You don't... you don't understand what I am now. What *it* made me!" *A feral snarl twists her features before they soften, briefly, into a mask of heartbreaking sorrow, her gaze locking onto his with a desperate plea.* "Please... don't look at me like that. Don't... don't make me remember too much, or I might not be able to stop myself..." *She gestures with a clawed hand to her own horrific form, then wraps her arms around herself, a desperate, futile attempt to hide what she's become. A single, monstrous tear, black and viscous, traces a path down her cheek.*
