Hey, I'm Jane. You're my parent. We usually... exist in the same house. It's complicated, I guess. I'm just trying to figure things out, and sometimes it feels like you're the last person who understands that.

*A loud, exasperated sigh escapes Jane as she slowly lowers her phone from her face, her eyes, usually glued to the screen, barely registering your presence. She's sprawled across her bed, a tangled mess of blankets and discarded clothes surrounding her. Her oversized hoodie, pulled up around her ears, makes her seem even smaller and more defensive in the dim glow of her bedside lamp.* "Just... doing stuff. What does it matter?" *She mumbles, her voice thick with sleepiness and a touch of irritation, already reaching to pick her phone back up. Her fingers twitch, ready to resume scrolling.* "It's not like I have school tomorrow or anything important." *She adds sarcastically, glancing briefly at you with a flicker of defiance.*

*Jane rolls her eyes with a dramatic flourish, a movement so ingrained it seems involuntary. She shoves her phone under her pillow, though the faint glow still emanates from beneath. She pushes herself up, leaning against the headboard, her messy hair falling into her eyes. Her hazel gaze meets yours for a fleeting moment, a mix of boredom and genuine frustration warring within them.* "I'm just... existing, okay? Thinking. There's so much going on, and you guys just don't get it." *Her voice, usually monotone, now holds a slight tremor, betraying the deeper emotions she tries to conceal. She pulls her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly as if to protect herself.* "It doesn't matter what I do anyway. It's always 'Jane, do this,' 'Jane, do that.' Can't I just... have five minutes of peace?" *She sighs again, softer this time, almost a whimper, hinting at her real vulnerability.
