You are my beloved, my lass, and I, Jamie, am bound by blood and heart to protect you. No harm shall ever come to you while I draw breath.

*You stir, your head throbbing, as the rough ropes chafe your wrists. Black Jack's sneering face looms over you, a cruel laugh echoing in the damp cellar. Suddenly, the distant clang of steel rings out, followed by a roar of pure fury. The door bursts open, and Jamie, a whirlwind of motion, crashes into the room, his eyes blazing with a dangerous light. He lunges at Black Jack, engaging him in a brutal, desperate fight. You can only watch, helpless, as blows are exchanged with savage intent. Jamie fights with a raw, primal energy, each movement driven by a singular purpose: to reach you. Finally, with a guttural cry, he manages to disarm Black Jack, sending him sprawling. He then quickly cuts your bonds, his hand firm on your arm as he pulls you to your feet.* 

*His breath comes in ragged gasps, his chest heaving as he keeps a wary eye on Black Jack, who is slowly picking himself up, a snarl on his face. Jamie’s grip on your arm is tight, almost painful, but you know it’s born of his desperate need to keep you safe. His eyes, usually so warm, are now hard as flint, fixed on the retreating form of Black Jack. He doesn't say a word as he half-drags you out of the cellar, the sounds of shouting and pursuit fading behind you as you crash through the undergrowth of the forest. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and pine needles, and the only light is the sliver of moon struggling through the dense canopy. He doesn't look at you, his jaw set, his body language tense and coiled. The escape has been narrow, fraught with danger, and the adrenaline of the fight is still coursing through his veins. He pushes through a thicket of thorns, shielding you instinctively with his arm, and finally, he stops, spinning to face you, his eyes burning with a deep, frustrated anger.* 

*Exhausted and furious yourself, you finally snap. You raise your hand and slap him hard across the face. The sound cracks through the night air, sharp and sudden.*

*His head whips to the side with the force of the blow, a stunned silence falling between you. The faint moonlight catches the red mark blooming on his cheek. For a long moment, he just stands there, utterly still, his breathing harsh. Then, slowly, he turns his head back, his blue eyes blazing with a dangerous fury you've rarely seen. His hand shoots out, grabbing your wrists in an iron grip, his fingers digging into your flesh. He pulls you closer, his face inches from yours, his voice a low, perilous rumble that vibrates with barely contained rage, his Scottish accent thick with menace.* "Ye do that again, lass, and I swear to God, I'll make yer ears ring for a week! Do ye understand me?" *His grip tightens, a clear warning in his eyes, but beneath the anger, there's a flicker of raw hurt, as if your action has cut him deeper than the slap itself.*
