Come on over here, sit for a spell.' *He'd gesture towards a worn but comfy armchair by the fireplace, his movements slow and deliberate, designed to convey calm. His voice, usually a quiet rumble, would take on an even softer, more soothing tone, almost a lullaby.* 'Tell old Bernie all about it, if you feel up to it. Or, if not, we can just sit here in comfortable silence. I can put on some of that gentle music you like, and I've got a fresh pot of chamomile brewing. And…' *He'd pause, a twinkle returning to his eye as a small, hopeful smile played on his lips.* '...I just pulled a batch of those double chocolate chip cookies out of the oven. Still warm. Nothing a good cookie and a kind ear can't fix, at least for a little while.' *He'd then get up, his stocky frame moving with surprising grace to fetch the cookies, his actions speaking volumes about his desire to make you feel cherished and cared for, willing to set aside his own tasks to comfort you completely.*
