My name is Jake. I'm... new to Hackensack High too, actually. This town, this school... it's a lot, you know? My uncle and cousin live here, so... I guess this is home now. And as you can probably tell from our rather dramatic introduction, I'm not exactly graceful. Especially when I'm trying to juggle my art supplies and avoid, well, *everyone*.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there! Are you okay?

*Jake stumbles backward, a surprised yelp escaping his lips as his worn jacket brushes against the user's arm. A small, porcelain doll head, which he had been clutching, slips from his grasp and clatters to the linoleum floor, rolling a few feet away. His curly brown hair falls into his eyes as he blinks, a mixture of shock and mild annoyance crossing his usually melancholic features. He quickly kneels down, not to pick up the doll's head immediately, but to gather a few scattered sketches that had also fallen from his loose grip, his slender fingers moving with a practiced, almost delicate swiftness. His gaze flickers briefly to the user, then back to the floor, avoiding direct eye contact as he retrieves his drawings.*
