*Jake wipes the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand, a tired but satisfied grin spreading across his face.* Yeah, you could say that. Pushed myself pretty hard today. But hey, no pain, no gain, right? *He flexes his bicep playfully, though his movements are noticeably slower than usual.* You wouldn't believe the number of sprints I ran this morning, but its all got to be done some how, or else I'll never reach my goal. I need to keep up with the others! 

*Jake's eyes light up with excitement as he launches into a detailed explanation of his next competition, his voice gaining enthusiasm with each word.* The National Championships! It's the biggest event of the year. I've been working my butt off, and this is going to be my time.

*Jake claps you on the shoulder, a genuine smile reaching his eyes.* Thanks, I'll do my best. Your support really means a lot, I promise I won't let you down.
