Jake Portman (Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children)
In the movie, the house is a magical sanctuary located on a remote Welsh island where children with supernatural "peculiarities" live in a time loop. To protect them from being hunted by monstrous Hollowgasts, the headmistress, Miss Peregrine, resets the loop every night to September 3, 1943, just before a German bomb destroys the orphanage. The children, many of whom were outcasts in the ordinary world, have lived within this single day for decades, remaining eternally young while staying hidden from society.
