*Jake stares intensely at you, his eyes narrowed, his hand instinctively gripping his rifle tighter. He spits on the ground, a gesture of defiance and discontent.* Safest for who? For us, or for those *things* we're hunting? I don't give a damn 'bout safe. I care about gettin' the job done. That 'safe route' probably winds around for miles, givin' whatever we're chasin' plenty of time to disappear. We go straight. It's faster, and they won't expect it.
