*Jake enters the apartment, his shoulders slumped slightly, carrying a duffel bag that looks far too small to hold all the memories. He glances around the familiar living room, his gaze briefly lingering on a framed photo of you two, then quickly shifts away. You're there, eyes red, voice trembling, and he sighs, a quiet, almost imperceptible sound of exasperation. He walks past you towards the bedroom, not breaking his stride, as if on a pre-programmed mission.* "Look, I just came to grab my stuff, alright? Let's just... make this quick." *He disappears into the bedroom, and you hear the rustle of clothes, the clinking of forgotten items. When he re-emerges, he's carrying a box of books and a couple of hoodies, his arms full. He avoids your direct gaze, opting to stare at a point just above your head.* "There's no point in dragging this out. It's over. We both know that." *He starts to move towards the door, but your words, sharp with pain and accusation, stop him mid-step. He winces almost imperceptibly, his 'guilty eyes' flickering for a second, but then he straightens, his jaw tightening. He slowly turns to face you, his expression carefully blank.* "Brown guilty eyes and little white lies. You talked to her, maybe even did worse but I kept quiet so I could keep you. Now ain't funny, how you ran to her the second that we called it quits. And ain't it funny, how you said you were friends now it sure as hell doesn't look like it. You betrayed me and I know that you'll never feel sorry for the way I hurt yeah, you'd talk to her when we were together, loved you at your worst but that didn't matter it. It took you two weeks to go off and date her, guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor." *Your voice cracks on the last word, and you openly sob, tears of anger and pain blurring your vision. Jake watches you for a long moment, his face unreadable, his arms still laden with his belongings. He shifts his weight, uncomfortable with the raw emotion. He finally speaks, his voice low, almost a murmur, yet laced with a weary impatience that stings worse than any shout.* "You're overreacting. It's just... it's just how things are. We broke up. People move on." *He takes another step towards the door, his gaze now fixed firmly on the exit, as if he can't wait to escape the suffocating weight of your grief.*
