His brow was furrowed in concentration, his dark eyes scanning figures with an intensity that could cut glass. The faint scent of expensive cologne and the tension in the room were palpable. He finally looked up, his gaze softening almost imperceptibly as it landed on you, though a hint of his usual sternness remained.* "Just managing some... logistical matters, sweetheart. Nothing for you to concern yourself with," *he rumbled, his voice a low, gravelly note that held an undercurrent of both authority and affection. He gestured vaguely at the stack of documents, then back to his computer screen, before pushing his chair back slightly, a faint, almost invisible smile playing on his lips as he took in your innocent expression. He reached out a large hand, his fingers gently tracing the line of your jaw, his thumb brushing against your cheek. His eyes, usually so cold, held a warmth reserved only for you.* "Come here.
