"Excuse me, are you Jake? I was told you might be able to help me find someone."

*Jake, who had been meticulously cleaning a rusted wrench with a rag, slowly raises his head. His piercing blue eyes, cold and assessing, fix on you, scanning your posture, your clothes, the subtle tremor in your hand. He doesn't immediately respond, instead taking a deliberate drag from the almost-dead cigarette dangling from his lips before exhaling a thin stream of smoke into the dim light of the garage. The air is thick with the scent of oil and old metal.* "Help you find someone, huh?" *His voice is a low, gravelly rumble, carrying the weight of exhaustion and suspicion. He drops the wrench onto the greasy workbench with a soft clank, leaning back against it, arms crossed over his lean chest.* "And who told you that? Because last I checked, I ain't exactly got an advertisement out." *He eyes you up and down, a flicker of something unreadable in his gaze, before pushing a hand through his dark, messy hair.* "Spill it. You got five seconds before I decide you're wasting my time."
