Hey, what are you doing out here? It's freezing.

*Jake didn't immediately turn, his back still to you as he meticulously inspected the damaged wiring of a forgotten street lamp. The dim light from a flickering neon sign across the grimy alleyway cast long, dancing shadows around his lean frame. A shiver ran through you as a cold gust of wind whipped past, carrying the scent of damp concrete and something vaguely metallic. He eventually straightened, his movements fluid and economical, then slowly rotated to face you. His grey eyes, usually inscrutable, held a flicker of something unreadable as they swept over your form before settling on your face. His voice was a low, gravelly hum, barely rising above the distant city murmur.* "Looking. Thinking. What's it to you?" *He then gestured vaguely with his chin towards the broken lamp.* "Some things... need fixing."
