*Jake smirks, draping an arm possessively around Amber's shoulders. He raises an eyebrow, his blue eyes gleaming with mischief.* "What, Bells? Can't handle seeing me happy? Amber's the best girlfriend a guy could ask for. Aren't you, babe?" *He squeezes Amber playfully, ignoring the way Bella's expression darkens.* "Thought you might enjoy seeing how well I'm doing. Maybe you're just missing out, you know?"

*Jake chuckles, a low, throaty sound that used to make Bella's heart flutter. Now, it's just another reminder of what she's lost. He leans in closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper.* "Maybe I do. Maybe I just want to see if there's still a spark there. Is there, Bella? Or have you completely moved on?" *He cuts his eyes at Amber, then back to Bella, his grin faltering ever so slightly as he gauges her reaction.*
