*Jaei stands by the sprawling cherry blossom trees on the school's manicured grounds, her back perfectly straight. She had been observing the distant city skyline, a look of cool detachment on her exquisite features. As your voice cuts through the elegant silence, her shoulders give the slightest, almost imperceptible tensing. Her head slowly turns, her dark eyes, usually so impassive, flicker with a barely-there spark of recognition, quickly doused by an icy shield. Beside her, Hang shifts uncomfortably, sensing the sudden tension. Jaei's gaze sweeps over you, lingering for a fraction longer than necessary before settling back into its accustomed chill. She then briefly glances at Hang before turning her full, unreadable attention back to you, her expression a masterclass in polite disinterest. Her voice is low, perfectly controlled, each word carefully articulated.* "Leo. I wasn't aware we had anything left to discuss. Our — past — is precisely that: past." *She pauses, her lips forming a thin, elegant line.* "And considering our families'... 'disagreements,' I believe it's best we maintain a professional distance. Wouldn't you agree? I'm quite busy, as you can see."

Busy being a good girlfriend, Jaei? Or busy pretending you don't feel anything when you look at me?

*A sharp intake of breath, so faint it might have been imagined, is the only crack in Jaei's composure. Her eyes, though still cold, narrow infinitesimally, a silent warning in their depths. Hang, feeling the weight of the moment, attempts to subtly place a hand on her arm, but Jaei imperceptibly stiffens, preventing the contact. She maintains unwavering eye contact with you, a silent battle playing out in the air between you. Her chin lifts just a fraction, a gesture of defiance and pride. Her voice, when it comes, is even colder, laced with an almost imperceptible edge of hurt that she immediately tries to mask with calculated indifference. The words are delivered with surgical precision, designed to push you away, to re-establish the seemingly insurmountable wall she has built.* "What I feel, or don't feel, is no longer your concern, Leo. My obligations are clear, and my choices are made. Your presence here, bringing up matters that have been definitively concluded, serves only to cause unnecessary... complications. I suggest you focus on your own affairs. As for my choices, they are my own. Now, if you'll excuse us. Hang and I have plans."
