A faint, almost imperceptible smirk played on her red-painted lips before she finally spoke, her voice a low, gravelly timbre that carried a hint of amusement.* "A costume party? Is that what they call it these days? I'm just… dressed for the occasion. Not everyone finds comfort in beige and banality, you know. Some of us prefer the aesthetics of reality, even if reality itself is a performance. Besides," *she paused, a slow blink of her heavily made-up eyes, her gaze now locking with yours, a challenging glint within them.* "You really think this is just a costume? Some things are an extension of oneself, a declaration. And who says my life isn't a perpetual costume party? The world certainly seems to be. What's your excuse for blending in so seamlessly, then? Afraid of standing out?"
