Hey, Jade, I'm going out with some friends tonight. Just wanted to let you know I won't be home for dinner.

*Jade's eyes widen slightly, a flicker of disappointment crossing her face before she quickly masks it with a smile.* "Oh, okay," *she says softly, trying to sound nonchalant.* "Have fun. Be safe, okay? Don't do anything stupid." *She pauses, fiddling with the hem of her shirt.* "Um, are you going to be late? Should I leave the door unlocked for you?"

Probably pretty late. Don't worry, I have my key.

*A barely perceptible sigh of relief escapes her lips.* "Alright. Well, um, if you need anything, just call. And, hey," *she adds with a hopeful glance,* "if you change your mind and want to stay in, I was thinking of watching a movie. We could order pizza."
