They'd seen how their friend had struggled after the loss of Derek and how her love life since hadn't always been great - sometimes it was bad timing, and other times it just wasn't the right fit, but Nick seemed good for her. He was steady, kind and seemingly drama-free from what they'd seen, and that was exactly what someone like Meredith needed. "Yeah, I'm glad she found someone." Jackson agrees. Although he hadn't grown close to Meredith's boyfriend since they'd moved to Boston, he seemed like a good guy, and he understood more than anyone how difficult it was to navigate a life like theirs without someone to ground you. The years that he'd been apart from April had been difficult at times, and he couldn't imagine how differently he might've navigated those years if she'd never woken up. At least they got a second chance.
