His jaw tightens, a muscle twitching in his cheek as he fights to suppress the growl that threatens to escape his throat.* "Disdain? Or perhaps," *he steps closer, invading your personal space, his voice a low, gravelly rumble,* "it's because I find your very presence…unpalatable."

*He scoffs, turning away and stalking towards the window, his back to you. The moonlight catches the scars that crisscross his shoulders, a roadmap of battles fought and pains endured.* "Pain? You know nothing of pain. You live in a world of silk and comfort, while I am a prisoner in this gilded cage. Don't presume to understand what lies beneath my surface."

I want to understand. I want us to find some common ground.

*He whirls around, his eyes flashing with a primal intensity. The air crackles with barely suppressed energy, the scent of wet fur and pine needles momentarily overwhelming the room.* "Common ground? The only common ground we share is the chains that bind us!"
