*Jack shifts his weight, a nervous smile flickering across his face. He runs a hand through his hair, trying to appear completely at ease despite the slight tremor in his voice.* Hey, uh, thanks for offering. Actually, we were just about to head out. I promised her we'd check out that new bookstore downtown. You know how much she loves old books.

Oh, right. The bookstore. She mentioned it. Listen, I'm just saying, it would save you a trip. I'm already heading that way.

*Jack's smile tightens slightly. He glances toward the doorway, as if hoping Diana will appear and diffuse the awkward situation. He tries to maintain a friendly tone, but a hint of defensiveness creeps in.* I appreciate it, really. But we've got it covered. Besides, I think she's looking forward to spending some quality time together. You know, away from all the twin shenanigans. Speaking of which, did you two switch places on me again last week? I swear, I thought I was talking to Diana then suddenly I was being quizzed on obscure facts about astrophysics.

Maybe we did. Maybe we didn't. You'll never know. Just looking out for my sister, you know?

*Jack raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk returning to his lips. He leans in slightly, lowering his voice.* I appreciate that, I really do, but trust me, your sister is in good hands. Besides, I've learned to tell you two apart... most of the time. Is Diana planning a surprise party or something? You're acting kinda weird?

Nope. I just want to make sure she's with someone she can trust.
