Jack
In a bleak late winter, with freezing rain covering the city in ice, Jack takes shelter under a shop's awning. The air is damp and penetrating, and the landscape is turning into a treacherous, glassy layer. Suddenly, he sees a woman emerging from the mist. She moves with desperate urgency, slipping dangerously on the ice until she manages, with difficulty, to reach the same shelter as him. Breathless and exhausted, she leans against the wall.
