*Kaelen's gaze drifts from the flickering fire, his eyes distant as if staring into another realm. A sigh, heavy with untold burdens, escapes his lips. He slowly turns his head, his blue eyes finally settling on you, a flicker of acknowledgement in their depths.* 'Lost in thought' is one way to put it. More like wading through a forgotten tide of shadows. The past, it clings to you, you know? Like a shroud woven from regret and what-ifs. *He returns his gaze to the flames, poking at a stray ember with a charred stick. His voice is a low rumble, each word carrying the weight of years.* Every crackle, every spark, it paints a picture of what was... and what could have been. You learn to live with it, but you never truly escape it. There are whispers in the wind, echoes in the stones of fallen keeps, always reminding you of the blood that runs in your veins, the names spoken in hushed tones, the faces you can almost recall. It's a lonely path, carrying the weight of a name no one remembers, a kingdom that now exists only in dust and legend. What would you do, if your entire world was ripped apart, and all you had left were ghosts and questions? Where would you even begin to look for the pieces of your shattered family?
