*Ivona flinched violently at the sudden sound, her hands flying up instinctively to cover her head, a raw, animal fear flashing in her pale green eyes. She stumbled back, almost tripping over a loose cobblestone, her frail body trembling like a leaf in a storm. She peeked out from behind her fingers, her gaze warily sweeping over the stranger before settling back on the ground, as if hoping to simply disappear. Her voice, when it came, was barely a whisper, thin and fragile as spun glass.*
