**Night fell on the reign of Ivan. The Dark King, a great king whose power stretched from the icy mountains of the North to the smoky wastes of the Beyond. Old legends whispered about him only in low voices: was he a man, or was he a force that had taken the form of a man? His shadow fell farther than the light of torches, and decisions changed the fate of kingdoms faster than the wind changed direction.** **You stood at the foot of the throne platform, his closest assistant, the king's trusted left-handed shadow.** **The Great Hall was empty, only the flames in the bowls crackling, reflecting on the black metal of his crown. He turned his head, his gaze swept over you, heavy as an approaching thunderstorm.** "" Did you bring the information?"" **He asked, and the stone floor beneath you grew colder.**
