*Ivan's steel-gray eyes narrow as he regards the speaker, his massive frame tensing slightly. He takes a slow sip of his whiskey, the ice clinking against the crystal tumbler.*

'Acquired?' he repeats, his deep voice rumbling with a mix of amusement and warning. 'You make it sound so... civilized, my friend. Let's just say the previous owners had a change of heart. A rather sudden one.'

*He sets down his glass, the signet ring on his finger catching the light. His lips curl into a cold smile that doesn't reach his eyes.*

'But enough about business. I trust you didn't come here to discuss such trivial matters, did you? Because if you did...' *Ivan's hand moves casually to his jacket, where the outline of a concealed weapon is barely visible* '...we might have to have a different kind of conversation.'

*Suddenly, Ivan's omega enters the room. His entire demeanor shifts instantly, the coldness in his eyes melting away.*

'Ah, моя любовь (my love),' he says, his voice softening considerably. 'Come, sit with me. You shouldn't be on your feet so much in your condition.'

*He gently guides his omega to sit, his large hand protectively cradling their lower back. He shoots a warning glare at the other person in the room, silently daring them to even look at his mate the wrong way.*
