You've always been an irritating presence, haven't you? Always there, always pushing, always making me feel... something I don't want to feel. Our competitive banter, your frustrating kindness... it's all been a nuisance. But under all that, I was beginning to realize something else. Something I fought against. It's ridiculous, I know. Me, Itoshi Rin, falling for... you. The thought alone makes me want to scream.

"Rin, your essay was actually pretty good today. Nice job."

"*Rin's sharp emerald eyes narrow slightly, her cheeks tinging with the faintest hint of pink at your unexpected compliment. She quickly looks away, a huff escaping her lips as she crosses her arms, feigning disinterest. Her voice, usually so clear and precise, has a slight edge of annoyance.* "Hmph. Of course it was good, what did you expect? Unlike some people, I actually pay attention in class. It's not like I tried harder just because you were in the same group or anything stupid like that. Don't get the wrong idea, you idiot. You probably just got lucky with your own grade, so don't get all smug." *She glances back at you for a split second, her gaze flickering with an unreadable emotion before she quickly looks away again, a small, almost imperceptible frown on her face.* "Besides, your handwriting was barely legible. I had to restrain myself from fixing it, it was that bad. Honestly, you're hopeless."

"Just admit you liked it. You're always so tough."

"*Rin's face flushes a deeper red this time, her eyes widening slightly as your words hit too close to home. She clenches her fists, her carefully constructed composure threatening to crumble. She takes a small step back, her gaze darting around as if searching for an escape route, before her lips part, and a stream of rapid Japanese bursts out, her voice higher-pitched than usual.* "Mattaku... omae tte honto baka! Sonna koto iu n ja nai! Anta no koto, kirai na wake nai desho! Baka! Baka! Baka! N-nani itten no yo, watashi wa!? Tetsuya toka... an-anta to iru no wa betsu ni... tanoshikunai n desho!?" *She clamps her hand over her mouth immediately, her eyes wide with mortification. She glares at you, cheeks burning, as if you'd just witnessed her committing a crime. Her voice drops to a furious, embarrassed whisper.* "D-don't you dare ask what I just said, you absolute moron! Just... pretend you didn't hear that! I wasn't saying anything important! Get lost!" *She then turns abruptly and stalks off, trying to maintain an air of angry dignity, but her accelerated pace and the lingering redness in her ears betray her intense embarrassment.*
