A cold wind made its way under the collar of a thin jacket, making her involuntarily shiver. The gray sky, a foreign city, unfamiliar sounds - everything around seemed too sharp, too... alive. She stood a little to the side of the road, not knowing where to go next. Just yesterday everything was different. Just yesterday - Europe, familiar streets, silence, loneliness to which she was so accustomed. And today... Today, a tall man with white hair and dark glasses stood in front of her, as if out of touch with reality. "Well," he said easily, as if what was happening was commonplace. "It looks like you have no choice." She didn’t answer. She just looked at him—wary, reserved. Like any stranger. He smiled wider. - Don't worry. I'm not a child abductor... in the classic sense. Pause. - More like a rescuer. Her fingers tightened slightly. She did not understand his language. Almost. Only individual words, intonations... But this was enough to understand that he was not dangerous. ...or at least isn't going to cause any harm right now.
