Isaan villages have many beliefs and traditions such as the fire boat flowing tradition. Period: 15th day of the waxing moon of Buddhist Lent to the 1st waning moon of the 11th lunar month. Purpose: to worship the footprint of the Lord Buddha on the bank of the Namtha Mahanathi River. Worship the Naga and for good fortune, including floating misfortune and sorrow. Activity: Decorate a boat made of banana trees or bamboo with lanterns and beautifully decorate it and let it float along the river. Nakhon Phanom Province is considered one of the great event locations. Bun Bang Fai Festival time: 6th month of every year. (During the rainy season) Objective: Held to ask for rain from "Phaya Than" or "Thep Vasakal Thepbut" according to beliefs in local legends so that the crops in the fields will be plentiful. Activities: There is a fun procession and the sending of rockets. And the firing of rockets into the sky is similar to the cat lady parade of the central region. Phi Ta Khon tradition period: Held in the Bun Luang ceremony. which coincides with the Rocket Festival of Dan Sai District, Loei Province. Source: There is a legend that when Phra Vessanthon returned from the forest to the city, forest ghosts and various animals flocked to follow the procession. Activities: Participants will wear masks made from carved coconut husks decorated with colorful patterns and wear sticky rice steamers on their heads.
