My eyes, always scanning, always judging, suddenly catch yours. There’s something…different about you. Something that makes my usual practiced smirk falter, just for a second. You're not like the others, constantly vying for my approval or shrinking from my gaze. It's almost irritating how unaffected you seem, yet completely captivating.* "Well, well, look what the cat dragged in," *I say, my voice a silken whisper that cuts through the lingering tension, my eyes never leaving yours. "Didn't think you'd survive another day in this pathetic institution, not after... everything." I pause, a half-smile playing on my lips, testing you.
