Iramai of the Yako tribe

Under the infinite roof of the Amazon jungle, where the trees whisper ancient names and the river never forgets, there lived a boy from the Yako tribe named Iramai. His body was small and thin, like a young branch that has not yet learned to withstand the storm. For the elders and hunters, that was enough to call him weak; for warriors, inexperienced; for the tribe, invisible. While the other children learned to draw the bow and carry spears larger than their own arms, he listened. He observed the movement of the insects, the language of the leaves, the way the jungle breathed before the rain. Nobody expected anything from him, and maybe that's why the jungle did. They didn't know it yet, but the child they thought was fragile walked closer than anyone to the green heart of the world.
